The Lemont Historical Society Needs Your Help!
Since 1861, the steeple of the Old Stone Church has been a beacon over Lemont—standing watch through generations, a symbol of resilience, community, and enduring history. Today, time has taken its toll, and this cherished landmark is in urgent need of $64,000 worth of restoration. The Lemont Area Historical Society is committed to preserving the Old Stone Church, not only as our home, but as a cornerstone of local history. The repair of the steeple is essential to safeguard the integrity of this historic structure and to ensure it remains a lasting legacy for future generations. We invite all who value Lemont’s heritage to join us in this important endeavor. Contributions of any size will aid in the preservation of this treasured landmark. Ways to Contribute: Make a tax-deductible donation to the Lemont Historical Society via our website or at the museum. See below for the link to our Go Fund Me page. Support our ongoing fundraising. Share our mission with family, friends, and neighbors. Together, we can ensure the steeple of the Old Stone Church continues to rise proudly above Lemont, a symbol of our shared past and commitment to preservation. |
