is opening a new exhibit showcasing:

The Friends and Families
of Lemont

Spaces are being “rented” to Lemonters who wish to showcase their family, business, organization, etc.
Show off your history for 3 months with a choice of three sizes of spaces.  Need ideas? 
How many generations have operated your business in Lemont?
When did your family come to Lemont?  Why?
What is the story behind the Lemont organization you belong to?
Tell the history of the home or building you are in.

Information on the “Friends and Families of Lemont” new exhibit room

  • Our mission is to promote research, preservation, education, and dissemination of history and collections related to the greater Lemont area.
  • This room has twelve sections divided into three different sized wall areas for display.  We are asking for a suggested tax-deductible donation of:
  • $25 for a display area approximately 33” wide by 42” high.    
  • $50 for a display area approximately 30” wide by 84” high. 
  • $100 for a display area approximately 46” wide by 84” high.  With the $100 donation, you will also be receiving a free copy of our 125th Anniversary of Lemont book.  We can send you a letter of confirmation on your donation.
  • While we cannot offer professional services, we would be happy to assist you on making your display. 
  • If you need help on genealogical research, we have a form for you to fill out and then Barb Bannon, our genealogist, will contact you. 
  • We reserve the right to determine the length of time your items will be up for display.  It will be up for a minimum of three months, depending upon the waiting list.
  • We cannot be responsible for theft or damage, so we strongly suggest you display copies and not originals.
  • While we are not providing the actual display materials, we recommend that if you are using frames, shadow boxes, foamboard / posterboard, you only use a black color.  Your display can include pictures and text telling the story of your history in Lemont.
  • We will be providing slatwall snap hooks and binder clips which will allow you to hang your items.  We can provide a paper nameplate with the name of your family, company, or organization at your request.
