Weddings at the Historical
Old Stone Church
Old Stone Church, a nondenominational chapel on the National Register of Historical Places, is the oldest church structure in the historic Village of Lemont, IL. It served as the Lemont Methodist Episcopal Church for over 100 years from 1861 to 1970, then in 1970 it was deeded to the Lemont Area Historical Society, the current owners.
Old Stone Church provides an intimate yet elegant setting for your wedding or renewal of vows. The building is constructed of Lemont's famous limestone "Athens Marble", laid in 22 inch thick bricks. Some of our beautiful attributes that make it a picture-perfect wedding venue are our ten stunning colored stained-glass windows, imported from Italy, that were installed at the turn of the 20th century, our original embossed tin ceiling made by the Friedley-Voshardt Company in Chicago and our elegant hand carved curved pews can accommodate up to 120 guests.
